Sr Software Engineer

Our client are providing challenging projects, advanced technology stack and industry standard development experience. With teams spread across Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Taiwan, you will get to learn working in a uniquely remote team environment.

The team is growing very fast with passionate senior and junior engineers joining. We are looking for technically strong and driven Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who are looking for a team where they can continue learning and exploring new technologies, at the same time applying their deep tech knowledge and innovative ideas to solve challenging problems. You also get a chance to coach and teach juniors and practice and improve many other soft skills like project management, communication and leadership etc.

Our team have built:
• 3 Web platforms for merchants / shoppers / admins - built using ReactJS + Hooks / Redux / Mobx
• 3 Mobile Apps for Delivery Agents / Merchants / Shoppers / Warehouse Operators – built using React Native + Hooks / Redux / Mobx
• Scalable micro-services with NodeJS and Golang Dockerised apps deployed in Kubernetes cluster spanning across Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia region, serving as the backend
• Proprietary backend engines for optimizing delivery decisions: routing, dispatching, auto-matching and pricing mechanism
• Modern CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment
• Data Warehouse (Redshift) and Data Lake (S3) for dashboard, monitoring and analytics

About The Role:
• Design high quality technical solution for complex features
• Implement complex features independently or if needed lead a small team of juniors to complete it together
• Research on new technologies and possibility to improve our system
• Refactor / Revamp our codebase as to continuously improve code quality
• Coach and teach juniors about new technologies, best coding practice, solution design thinking, provide guidance in their growth
• Participate in code reviews to ensure clean and efficient code
• Contribute effectively to our technical capabilities in longer term, both front and back end
• Analyse our data and come up with solutions that help our business scales

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or above
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• 5-7 years of relevant experience. (Less experienced candidates will be considered for a more junior Software Engineer role automatically)
• Team player and proven record of completing tasks independently and with teammates
• Proven strong coding skills, following best practice and software design pattern
• Able to propose and evaluate solution to complex problems, with performance, scalability, security considerations
• Proven ability on some soft skills, like communication and project management, can work with Designers, Product Managers smoothly
• Can demonstrate good problem solving skills, how to use technology to solve business problems, good use of algorithm and data structure is expected if needed
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript (ES6), React, Node.js, Golang, SQL, Git, AWS, CI/CD

Don’t worry if your knowledge doesn’t entirely fit the technical stack listed above, we value a strong technical foundation with other languages and frameworks as well, and we believe a strong foundation should allow you to learn fast and adapt to our stack fast. This is a full-stack role but also welcome candidates with strong backend focused background and learn to become full-stack here.
